About Me

Building systems where correctness isn't optional

I'm a Senior Software Engineer with 7+ years building high-volume, correctness-critical systems — the kind where a race condition or a lost transaction isn't a bug, it's a real problem for real users. I work across the stack, but my center of gravity is backend architecture and the data-consistency problems that come with scale.

Payments

Payments infrastructure across two roles — QRIS e-wallet rails at Fazz Financial Group, marketplace checkout at HubShop:

  • Deferred Stripe PaymentIntent checkout — no chargeable client_secret until the buyer pays, so order and intent can't drift
  • QRIS round-trip end to end — initiation, gateway callbacks, settlement — tolerant of duplicate and out-of-order delivery
  • Ledger consistency under concurrency via row-level locking, idempotency keys, and reconciliation jobs

E-commerce & Logistics

At HubOn & HubShop, the same correctness discipline applies to stock, orders, and delivery:

  • Closed oversell in concurrent checkout by moving stock deduction to relative SQL arithmetic under a row lock
  • Led a ~190-file extraction of a first-class Shop domain, shipped in independently reversible phases

I care about the tradeoffs behind the code — data consistency, system reliability, architecture decisions, and choosing the right tools for the problem. My goal is to build systems that remain fast, reliable, and secure when they matter most.

Senior Backend Engineer

HubOn & HubShop

Jan 2022 - Present

  • Re-architected marketplace checkout to a deferred Stripe PaymentIntent flow, eliminating order/intent amount drift
  • Closed oversell in concurrent checkout by moving stock deduction to relative SQL arithmetic under a row lock
  • Cut key queries on the ~2M-row core logistics table from ~11s to <500ms (~96% faster) with composite indexes
  • Removed a Stripe round-trip from every coupon and tip change, backed by declined-payment resubmission and payment reconciliation jobs
  • Added oversell alerts and a reconciliation job over paid orders, recording negative stock as an auditable fact that survives webhook retries
  • Replaced Hashids-obfuscated delivery-tracking links with 96-bit SecureRandom capability tokens carrying expiry, revocation, and a re-issue flow
  • Designed an on-demand image rendition pipeline with signed variation keys over a closed whitelist, libvips transcoding, and ActiveStorage proxy delivery backed by S3
  • Led extraction of a first-class Shop domain model out of an overloaded is_seller flag across ~190 files, delivered in reversible phases with a versioned API contract
  • Built GitHub Actions CI running the full test suite on every PR in ~3-4.5 minutes, and cut production incidents ~70% over 12 months through better error handling, middleware, and RSpec/Cypress coverage

  • Built the QRIS payment round-trip for the e-wallet mobile app end to end — initiation, gateway callback handling, and settlement
  • Resolved race conditions in concurrent workflows with row-level locking on balance and transaction state updates
